What car would this shifter have come from and in what television series did this shifter play a prominent role?

I’m with mkbruin, it’s a MOPAR. So I’m gonna guess Dukes of Hazard because they had several prominent MOPARs in it.

Nope. I don’t know the car. My memory was of a Mustang II shifter, which clearly this is not. I’m more interested in who can call the television series, and we’ve already discussed The Rockford Files.

No. This one has a wide black plastic button on top of the shifter and the Torino shifter had buttons on the ends of the handle.

Just spent the week on a houseboat with my family and each of my daughters brought a friend. Good family time.
School starts back up in a couple of weeks and I have to begin preparing for that. Even though I haven’t actually begun working on Rusty yet, I’ve done some good thinking about it...
I put 500 miles on the Versa and it ran and drove very well, though I was hoping for better than the 29-30 mpg that I got on the highway though, in fairness, that was at 80 mph with the A/C running.
Sorry you won’t take me up on 20Q though... (The show was Salvage 1.)

It’s a remarkably not-bad show for its era. 1979. I’d have expected it to be a few years earlier. Show managed to capture my imagination in the day. What year were you born? ‘64 for me.

Unlike this guy I recently played 20Q with, I would have given you clues to lead you to the answer...
I had brekkies this morning with a good friend at a grill/diner we’d never eaten at before, and I thought of you. Two eggs over hard, slice of ham and house fries.
Guy I had brekkies with needs struts/shocks in his ‘07 Mazda 3 and I can really use some cash, so it’ll be shade tree mechanicking again, briefly. It’s a pretty clear poaching of work from a mutual friend’s shop, but the mutual friend already got to do the clutch... I work on cars for time and material at $40 an hour, and sometimes round up a little. At that rate, when a part goes bad and I have to do the work a second time, they don’t mind paying me for my time. And we come in at 40% of the shop rate and I have some Jacksons in my wallet.

It’s a remarkably not-bad show. And it captured my imagination, a bit, at the time it aired. And Andy Griffith is likeable and some of the acting, Andy’s in particular, is not bad.

i got tired of spinning wrenches for other people..... everyone that was needing work, wasnt exactly in a spending mood. the “can you do it cheaper” mentality, so that they could afford all the other things that they NEEDED. things like the latest biggest tv, and the newest phone....... i dont mind working with my friends though on fun projects.
i play 20Qs to WIN.......
